Senior Point Guard Carly Truesdale #30 found her new home with the Lady Wildcats at Westbury Christian School

2013 Carly Truesdale is one of the most precised passer in the league that is following the footsteps of Westbury Christian lines of guards now playing on the college level. Westbury Christian consistently produces college caliber talents year after year. Truesdale can score in many ways on the floor and most of all she has a great vision to hit the perfect passes whether it'll be the wing guard or the post on fast breaks. Every posts and wings will love to have Carly on their teams, because it makes it a lot easier for everyone to score when defenses are guessing if she will either pass or drive to the basket, hit a mid range jump shot or a layup to the basket. or even dishes a pass to the posts. Truesdale is over shadowed by most guards in her class due to her absence on the floor recovering from two knee surgeries that limited her from playing last summer. She' has now come back healthy ready for the district games and tournament hoping to continue the Lady Wildcats campaign for District title and 5th straight State Championship. She will definitely be an asset to any college looking for a true point guard to add to their roster. Come and see her play and be the judge.

WCS Wildcats vs. Kinkaid Falcons Tuesday, Jan. 22 - 7:30 PM at Westbury Christian

On January 22, Westbury Christian will host the Kinkaid School in a varsity boy’s basketball game, and in order to honor the impact Mr. Garrett had on both school communities, all gate proceeds will be donated to the Garrett family. We would like to invite the whole community out for a great night of basketball as well as an opportunity to give back to a family that has given so much to others.

Mr. Levy Garrett served several years as a coach at the Kinkaid School as well as with the Houston Lynx AAU team. Mr. Garrett also held a special place in the Westbury Christian School community being a Wildcat fan, supporter and parent, as his son Monice was a 2005 graduate. Mr. Garrett has touched the lives of so many youths in the greater Houston area. Through the game of basketball Mr. Garrett spread his infectious joy and love for life and kids.

Mr. Garrett was born on August 19, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas. He attended St. Phillips College and Texas Southern University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy. He continued his education by attending the Consortium Graduate Program in Allied Health and Administration through Baylor Medical College, Texas A & M University and the University of Houston, graduating in 1976 as a Jessie Hoye’ Fellow with a Master’s Degree. He most recently worked at Riverside General Hospital as Director of the Respiratory Therapy Department, as an AAU basketball coach with the Houston Lynx, and as an assistant basketball coach with the Kinkaid School.

Westbury Christian shrugs off losses, shoot for fifth straight TAPPS girls hoops crown. (Article written by: Jeff Jenkins/Houston Chronicle)

Out of character: The Westbury Christian girls basketball team recently ended a seven-game skid with a 65-15 rout against Emery/Weiner in the TAPPS District 4-4A opener. Although many of the losses were to Class 5A public schools, it was still a brutal stretch for the four-time reigning TAPPS Class 4A state champions.
Making a point: Senior Carly Truesdale, a transfer from Clements, is the latest in a long line of quality point guards from Westbury Christian. Truesdale, who is averaging 16 points and eight assists, is following in the footsteps of former Wildcats standouts such as Amber Orrange (Stanford), Tiffany Davis (South Carolina) and Sylvana Okde (Louisiana-Lafayette).
Coming up: Westbury Christian will host Lutheran South at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, before traveling to St. Louis, Mo., for two games in the MLK Girls Basketball Showcase.

Truesdale gets strong support from 5-5 junior Hannah Cambel at shooting guard. Cambel is a 3-point specialist, who hit seven threes against Brenham in the Aldine ISD Tournament semifinals. She is averaging 12 points.  MORE ON HERE
