IT"S SHOWTIME 6PM Tonight @ Pope John XXIII Katy Texas TAPPS 4A Regional "IT'S A REMATCH"

THE GAME…

Fort Bend Christian started a stellar season going over thirty wins including a victory at Westbury Christian Lady Wildcats den by 8 points.  The Lady Eagles look to soar and land their chance to win the District 4 Title, but was spoiled by a couple of losses to the Lady Pioneers of Lutheran South. One in the regular season and the second was the semi finals of District 4 Tournament. It was an opportunity missed by the Lady Eagles to play Westbury Christian for the District 4 Title who took the Title for the 5th straight year beating Lutheran South in the District 4 Tournament Championship game. The Lady Pioneers lost the Lady Wildcats twice this season. The second was for the District Title game.

THE HISTORY…

Jan 17 – Westbury Christian over Lutheran South 70-42
Jan 25 - Fort Bend Christian over Westbury Christian 59-51
Jan 29 - Fort Bend Christian lost Lutheran South 54-60
Feb 14 - Fort Bend Christian lost Lutheran South 65-58
Feb 16 - Westbury Christian over Lutheran South 49-42
Feb 26 – It’s SHOWTIME!!!

THE QUESTIONS…

Will the Lady Eagles of Fort Bend Christian beat the Lady Wildcats of Westbury Christian for the second time or will the four times defending STATE Champion Westbury Christian still have the will to win and move forward to claim their Fifth State Championship? Will the hungry Lady Eagles of Fort Bend Christian have enough strength to soar high tonight and land their chance for a State Title or will the Lady Wildcats spoil their chances? It will all remain a QUESTION until tonight when THE GAME is played. Who’s hungry for the WIN?

THE TEAMS…

Katy's Seven Lakes Senior Guard Lauren Sim - Lady Spartans

Seven Lakes Senior Guard Lauren Sim - Photos by Troy Sim
Seven Lakes fought hard and took a 2 point lead going into the fourth quarter but the Spartans couldn't stop a hard charging and more talented Clear Springs who ranks #3 in state. They were one win away from representing Region 3 (Houston area) at the state UIL Final Four tournament in Austin. "I am very proud of Lauren, it's been a long four years of high school basketball with huge dedication and commitment that has culminated in Seven Lakes many firsts, including Region Championship runners-up and a 33-7 record." Said Troy Sim, Lauren's dad. He is one of the most dedicated father I've known from summer basketball since our daughters were in grade school. What a great journey for Lauren. The memoirs that a father will treasure for life. I salute you Troy.

Don't Count Them Out Yet! Heart Of The Champion Still Beats... Westbury Christian 62 Lutheran North 28 Final

Senior point guard Carly Truesdale pull up for an easy bucket on top of the key.

Senior Carly Truesdale and junior Hannah Cambel closed in on frosh Jay Branch
Don't count them out yet... Lady Wildcats showed tenacity in their second meeting with Lutheran North who was favored to win on top of TAPPS 4A District 4 this season. Senior point guard Carly Truesdale showed why she is a great point guard. She got everyone involved early in the game that had the lady lions guessing on who to defend. She made some great precised passes that made her teammate scored open baskets. The score book may not show it, but it was a game that a true point guard showed her best. She finished with 11 points, countless assists, rebounds and a few blocks. Lady wildcats was led by senior post Allison Ondrusek with 18 points followed by junior guard Hannah Cambel with 17 points who hits 5 three pointers with 4 of them before the half giving the wildcats a 29-11 lead. We can not forget senior guard KC Rodgers and junior guard Leslie Nava doing all the dirty work for the lady wildcats creating havoc on Lutheran North's offense. Westbury Christian will play Lutheran South for TAPPS 4A District 4 Title game 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16th. It's a match up you don't want to miss. Will Westbury Christian repeat and hold on to their crown or will they be challenged by the young Lady Pioneers? Game is set and ready to be played!

Lutheran South GOLDEN Twins Shines Bright For The Lady Pioneers

Marie Bailey shoots over her defender for an easy two.
Brooke & Megan Golden double up on Taylor Forrest
The effort of frosh's Megan and Brooke Golden paid off and lift Lutheran South to beat the district favorite Fort Bend Christian lady eagles 65-58 in the semi final game of TAPPS 4A district 4 tournament. The game went into overtime, but the lady pioneers prevailed in a very physical and exciting game. Sophomore guard Marie Bailey played a very poised game and handle the ball pretty well for the south while Ashley Ford did most of the damage driving and scoring most of the lady pioneers points. Lutheran South progam looks very bright with the GOLDEN girls. They will face the lady wildcats of Westbury Christian for the championship on Saturday, February 16th  5:30 p.m. @ Lutheran South High School.

TAPPS 4A District 4 Girls District Semi-Final Match Up For Thursday February 14 Is Set

All games will be held at Fort Bend Christian Academy located at 1250 7th St, Sugar Land, Texas. It will be a REMATCH...

3:30 p.m. Lutheran North Lady Lions will play Westbury Christian Lady Wildcats. The lions looking to redeem themselves from their lost to the wildcats on their first meeting in February 1st at Westbury Christian.

5:00 p.m. Fort Bend Christian Lady Eagles to take on Lutheran South Lady Pioneers and battle for the second time too. Lutheran South won the last meeting at home and beat the lady eagles to hand them their first defeat of the season.

The winners will play for the TAPPS 4A District 4 Title on Saturday. Westbury Christian is the reigning district champion and also holds the State title for the past four years. Everyone had counted out the wildcats this year and even the Houston Chronicle quoted "If the Houston area is to claim a TAPPS state championship, it may have to come from somebody other than defending 4A champ Westbury Christian, which has been up and down this season." more on the story HERE. Last year when everyone said the same thing about Westbury Christian, the girls used it as a motivation. Always remember what Rudy Tomjanovich said "Do not under estimate the heart of a CHAMPION!"

Following the boys.. Big things are about to happen for the Girls Basketball Program at The Village School

Challenges for the Village Lady Vikings helped make a better future for the basketball program. They knew that with gain comes sacrifice.

The last game of the season shows a lot of promise. Village Lady Vikings scored 68 and hold The Oaks to 18.  Haley Thompson scored 28 points followed by Sophie Milich with 18, and Iciar Iturmendi  with 14. “The first full varsity girls basketball season in school history, with only 6 players, zero seniors, and it was a WINNING SEASON! So proud of my team!” says Coach Brotherton in his first season with the Lady Vikings. “The girls showed great toughness and togetherness, which are the staples of our program!" and quoted "TnT: Toughness n Togetherness GO VIKINGS!"  He added.
