On November 18th-20th a total of 84 boys and girls team will hit the hardwood to compete for the 2010 Mc Donald’s Texas Invitational Title. 48 boys and 36 girls team that includes the boys and girls State 5A champions Fort Bend Bush and Cypress Fairbanks. Let’s go back and follow some leads. About a year past, I wrote about this group of girls in this blog “Back to the Future! 2012-2014” and way before that when they were youngsters and in grade school, I saw them play and said these girls will become good athletes and I am happy to say that all of them are still playing the game they love and progressing tremendously in high school . Looking forward to 2012 less than a couple of years from now about half of them will graduate high school and only GOD will know where they will end up and if they will continue to play at the next level. The day will come when the last one of the pack heads out to college. I can look back and read thru all this and can only remember the days growing along with the beautiful ladies. Where ever each one of them ends up, I am for sure that they will follow their dreams and at this point in time, I can only wish for each one the best for a JOB WELL DONE so far. "Good Luck To Your 2010-2011 Season!"

The 6'9" 275 lbs. "BEAST" will defend The Village!

After a great summer AAU basketball season with the Houston Defenders Select, head coach Don Harvey is happy to have Shaq Cleare back home at The Village High School to man the middle and defend his home court. The Village Vikings will open their season November 2nd at home facing HCYA. Game starts at 7:00 p.m.

Two years has gone by fast for The Village High School basketball program. The former all freshmen Viking team is now on their third year of existence with seasoned players. Junior point guard Gary Smith and shooting guard Trevion Williams will lead the backcourt while junior Chris Matthews will start as a small forward. Matthews is another great player that will bring excitement for the Viking fans this year. He is the "Silent Assassin". Let's not forget about junior Devion Whetstone and sophomore Josh Butler 'The Workcoholics" who in the absence of Shaquille will step in and take responsibility of protecting the middle. Both Whetstone and Butler are versatile players that can play 4 and 5. The two other great hard working role players are sophomore guards Kevin Zea and Thierry Thcenko. Don't miss out this year! BWS November 2010 Basketball Camp

The camp that will feature former L.A. Laker, Tierre Brown, Tulsa Shock Leading Scorer Sholanda Robinson, and 2005 WNBA Champion and 2005 All-Star and Current member of the WNBA's Connecticut Sun DeMya Walker who highlights the camp, they will be in the Houston area. The camp will be on Nov. 13 and 14 hosted by current and former WNBA and NBA players who are wanting to give back.

The camp is extremely affordable, only $80 per kid ages 7 and Up, for both boys and girls. This is a chance for everyone to improve and learn from the best!
