Houston, TX (Sept. 19, 2012) – Sam’s Club and General Mills have announced that they will host a Member Appreciation event at the new Sam’s Club - Pearland on Thursday, Sept 27, from 6-8 p.m. As part of the day’s celebration, University of Houston Cougar and Houston Rockets’ Legend Elvin Hayes will meet with fans and sign free autographs.
The associates at the Sam’s Club - Pearland look forward to serving the community with top of the line service all year long and are excited to hosting Hayes at 15800 S. Freeway in Pearland.
As The Sporting News College Basketball Player of the Year in 1967, Hayes was the first selection of the 1968 NBA Draft by the San Diego Rockets. The "Big E" average 21 points per game over his illustrious 16-year career, including a stint with the Houston Rockets. Hayes was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1960 and named on of the NBA's 50 greatest players in 1996.
“We encourage fans to join us for a fun and exciting day,” said Randall Yarborough, Sam’s Club manager of the Pearland location. “This event is our way of thanking the community for their patronage of our numerous clubs in the area. We are excited and look forward to seeing all the smiling faces of Pearland and surrounding communities, as we welcome Houston legend Elvin Hayes to our new location.”
Sam’s Club members and guests are welcomed and encouraged to visit the Pearland location at any time throughout the day. Autographs are limited to one per person and are only guaranteed for the first 120 people in line.
