Village high school opened up their season away and lost their first game to the Lady Mustangs. Houston Christian lead by double digit from the start and never lost it's momentum. Lady vikings tried to close the gap by 8 points in the early 3rd quarter but cannot get any closer despite Cambel's effort scoring 20 points, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 rebounds, village just do not have enough firepower and legs to sustain the charging mustangs coming up short. Vikings led by three freshmen Cambel, Thompson and Onigbanjo combined for 37 with Thompson tabbing 9 points and Onigbanjo adding 8 points and claimed 6 rebounds.
