Summer Basketball Slowly Trickles In..

This past weekend Houston Elite held their 12th Annual Spring Fling tournament and shows quite a few talented girls and teams fresh from school ball ready to grind it all over again for the summer. Elite teams from Dallas, San Antonio and Houston battled it out thru Sunday afternoon. Teams in attendance are DFW Washington 2013 Black, HIO Showtime, DFW Elite G-Dub, Houstonians, DFW 2015 Elite, DFW Washington 2013 Blue, Cy-Fair Nike Mickens, Houston Elite Select, DFW Elite Gold, Cy-Fair Dallas 360, DFW Elite T-Jack, San Antonio Rohawks, Cy-Fair Dallas Blue, DFW 2015 Blue, Triple D Hoops, Galveston Cyclones, Texas MP Elite, Cy-Fair Dallas 2015, DFW Elite 2014 Blue, Cy-Fair Dallas 2015, DFW Marques Jackson, and Lady Warriors. Competition is getting stronger every year and it looks like Texas will have a good showing of girls playing in the next level in the near future. The interest has grown tremendously for the past 4 years. So girls it's time to get the ball rolling. Have your best attitude on and off the floor, because you don't know who's watching! Have a great, fun and healthy summer of basketball.

The BIG 2 committed to BIG 12! A Double Plus for the Red Raiders

Texas Tech landed a duo. Wannah Bail and Michael Carey will continue their basketball career at Lubbock Texas playing for the BIG 12 conference. The two seniors from Lamar Consolidated will team up again to play in the next level under Coach Billy Gillispie. Houston, Oregon and Florida State were on the hunt for the duo and Houston was on top of the list at one time, but scholarships issues might have prevented the possibility of having them closer to home. Westbury Christian Lady Wildcats 2012 TAPPS 4A State Champions!

Westbury Christian school lady wildcats represented Houston very well to grab the 2012 TAPPS 4A state title four years in a row making it the school's 8th state title. When everyone doubted and most said it's a down year for the girls basketball program at Westbury Christian. The lady wildcats saw it differently. They saw an opportunity to prove themselves. They believed! They knew they have what it takes to win it again. They lost some tough games but won when it matters. CONGRATULATIONS!

The Woodlands Christian Academy wins fourth state title in five years

The Westbury Christian wildcats will face Grace Prep tomorrow for the TAPPS 4A State Title, while the lady wildcats will do the same against Lubbock Trinity. The lady wildcats breeze thru Tyler Bishop Gorman winning by 18 points final score 82-64.
